While we Mac users have long awaited Microsoft to give us an official Xbox app for MacOS (much like the Windows 10 version), I have been trying to find a way to emulate the Xbox app on Mac, for useful input into in-game text chat in games like Warframe when it can get very tiresome to use the app on a phone. I tried to hook up my xbox with my mac. I use a verison dsl connection and I did all that the xbox requires to connect on its troubleshooter. It asks for my ip address which doesnt work but the automatic settings do. Then it asks me for my dns and I put in mine and that doesnt work along with the automatic settings. If you own an Xbox One, you can stream it to a Mac using this premium app. It’s not officially distributed by Microsoft, so there may come a day when it stomps the life out of this great.

Input lag varies depending on network conditions and how the network is configured, but even titles demanding exacting timing are playable.

OneCast requires iOS 10.0 or newer. The developer recommends the console be connected to a wired network, and the host device be connected to a 5Ghz Wi-Fi network, versus 2.4Ghz. The app occupies 17MB of space on device, and sells for $11.99.
